A Sense of the Organic: Yellow Engagement Rings
Jon Dibben’s yellow engagement ring is very traditional in one sense, but shows an effortless contemporary interpretation at the same time.
His use of setting and ring band design has a timeless and classic appeal which many couples seek, but then these designs begin to enter the realms of the unconventional with the use of yellow diamonds. I’ve not seen many bespoke designs with these coloured diamonds in so it was a very refreshing and unique experience.
Jon’s belief in nature’s blend of form and function can certainly be seen within this design.
His craftsmanship of the centre stone has placed it at exactly the right height to allow for the separate matching bands to sit snugly on either side. The result is a seamless and soft effect which is very soothing to the eye.
Jon’s use of flowing lines and shapes makes his work look organic and natural.
I find Jon’s interest in nature extremely appealing as anything with a nature oriented motif draws my interest. The effortless blend of shapes and colours removes any sign of the ring being engineered and means that all three bands could work individually as well as together.
I had never considered the connotations of nature that a yellow engagement ring could create so seeing Jon’s design has been a real eye-opening experience.
