Asymmetrically Beautiful Blue Engagement Rings
I remember as if it were yesterday that, upon meeting Andrew Leggett, I realised he and I share a passion for experimenting with geometric shapes.
I noticed his use of asymmetry in this beautiful blue engagement ring and became instantly enamoured with it.
Andrew has produced a fair few rings with a similar theme to this one, which he calls his ‘flick rings’. I love the illusion of the gemstone being precariously perched on the tip of the ring band as it makes it seem so fragile and delicate, and yet I know it is strongly encased in its setting thanks to Andrew’s flawless craftsmanship.
This blue engagement ring is also the perfect example of Andrew’s famous rub-over setting which blends the setting and gemstone together as if they are one.
The result is an ornate and organic look that L and I find effortlessly eye-catching.
This type of setting originates from Andrew’s passion for jewellery which meets the demands of everyday life and won’t snag on clothes or be inconvenient in any way. I will forever be in awe of how he manages to combine practicality and beauty without having to compromise either; his designs are both sensibly crafted and boundary-pushing.
L also loves the idea of a sparkling engagement ring such as this one which can be worn every day, as opposed to some rings which are fragile and have to be saved for special occasions.
