Interesting Gemstone Colours: Grey Engagement Rings
The individuality of Ruth Tomlinson as a designer is encapsulated with this beautiful grey engagement ring. I instantly found myself wanting to run my fingers over the cluster of stones to get a feel of the incredible finish on the band.
I had never seen a grey diamond before let alone in such an organic state as these are! Ruth loves antique diamonds and stones left in their original old miner cuts as she sees it as a tribute to the hands-on intuition that traditional stone cutters had.
Ruth displays that same intuition with her choices of unusual stones and exploration of non-traditional techniques.
The uneven casting of metal around the gemstones is the perfect celebration of the imperfect. It really brings to light how overly-engineered designs found on the high street have half the emotion and energy behind them, as something like this is so painstakingly handcrafted.
Ruth’s passion for her unconventional techniques really sums up F and my love for bespoke as it captures the true meaning behind it.
The organic way in which this grey engagement ring has been left in its natural state makes me feel at one with Mother Nature. I am sure that the wearer must feel the same when sporting such a special homage to earth-made beauty.
