Beautiful Contrasts within Black Engagement Rings

Jul. 10 2015
Chris and Joy Poupazis use both innovation and beauty to create a gorgeous black engagement ring in a shape of a tulip flower.

F and I have always had a fascination with the use of unusual gemstone colours within jewellery as we believe they can be a true testament to the ability of a bespoke designer. I often find myself particularly mesmerised when designers use darker colours, so this black engagement ring design by Chris and Joy Poupazis certainly caught my interest.

Keeping to one of their reoccurring themes of all things natural, Chris and Joy have incorporated this black gemstone into the shape of a beautiful tulip flower.

July 10 - Chris and Joy

One of my favourite things about this design is the breath-taking setting. Chris and Joy have used the outer leaves of the flower to hold the gemstone safely in place, while keeping to the motif of the tulip. It is both innovative and beautiful, something which appeals to F and me greatly.

The detailing on the setting is incredibly intricate and brings a whole new element of class to the design.

I love that Chris and Joy have brought a beautiful balance of colour to this black engagement ring, including the glittering silver of the setting and gold metal of the band. The design works perfectly in its entirety and would look gorgeous on any lucky bride-to-be’s finger!
